New York Part 1: First Day/Flying In
So it’s been a full week since I’ve been out here in New York and man has it been eye-opening lol. It’s everything I thought it would be… the cabs… the city… the people… the hustle… the subway.
But at the same time it reminds me so much of Toronto and Hong Kong. Why you ask? lol. I know comparatively speaking Toronto isn’t even 1/10th of New York in terms of everything. But the aesthetics of this city are just too akin to home, I mean, I could be walking down a street here in NY and it’ll feel exactly as if I was walking Bay Street or Yonge Street back in Toronto. There’s been a handful of times I can recall where I actually forgot I was in NY lol, I thought I was just in a new part of Toronto hanging out with some new faces.
And how does it remind me of Hong Kong? The busyness of the city, the cabs, taking the train around, the mass amounts of people and the amount of restaurants and stores. I feel like if Toronto, NY and HK were all on a spectrum, NY would land right in the middle. It doesn’t match the hustle & bustle of HK, the insane amount of advertisements around, or the amount of food you can find lol.
I digress though. Umm… yeah. I still got plans to visit a few more scenic spots, so expect more photos. Until then, I hope these are enough to give you a look into the city I feel the whole world already knows about. Just through TV, Hollywood, music, and what not, I feel like we’ve all been introduced to NY for so long lol.
Anyways, let me finally try some Pho here out in NY.
Sidenote, I definitely recommend flying Porter, they treat you good.
