While I was out in Montreal last week interning for my cousin Richmond Lam”, I had the chance to conduct a little photoshoot of my own. The inspiration behind this shoot were some fashion advertisement photos we found in a magazine, and to create something more darker and gritty.
All these photos were taken on a Canon 5D MKii, something I’ve never shot on before since I’m a Nikon user myself (*ahem* aka the better camera company). I have to say though, I was definitely impressed with the camera after I got used to it, its dynamic range even at higher ISOs is incredible, and having 22 megapixels at your finger tips is always clutch. Looking through a full-frame viewfinder and framing your subject also seems much easier because of its bigger size… now I’m even more thirsty to upgrade to a full-frame Nikon lol.
Shout out to my cousin Richmond for teaching me so much and helping me organize, setup and execute this shoot. Thank you to Dali and Dulcedo Model Management” for making all of this possible at a last minute request.
P.S. for the camera geeks out there, the gear used in these shots is as follows: 5d MKii, 85mm 1.8, 24-70mm 2.8, and Profoto D1 Air lights with either a shoot-through umbrella, a large octobox, or a beauty dish with a grid on it.
